Red Beans and Rice

5 medium cans of red beans
1 large polish sausage or kielbasa, if you prefer
3 cups cooked rice
5 cans water (use empty cans from beans)
1 chopped onion
1 or 2 tablepoons red hot sauce

Saute sausage in frying pan with onion. Pour into a large pot with red beans and water. Add hot sauce. Cover and simmer for one hour, stir occasionally. Serve in individual bowls, poured over 2/3 cup cooked rice.
