The lights of "Winter Magic" have been converted Light Emitting Diodes (LED's), which replace incandescent bulbs used in past years, thus helping our environment and cutting the electrical costs of such a vast display.

And if you think THE place to be New Year's Eve is huddled up in New York's Times Square, think again! Gatlinburg, Tennessee rings in 2009 with a massive street party that kicks off around 11 PM on December 31st. With this year's estimated crowd of 40-thousand revelers gathering on downtown streets. At midnight, the sky will light up over the city with a fireworks display and music show. Its free to the public. Oh, yes, you DO get free party favors!

Of course, there’s nothing like a visit to Ober Gatlinburg, as the snow-capped mountains create a winter setting you won’t find anywhere The largest aerial tramway in the U.S runs regularly from downtown Gatlinburg. The ride takes you directly to this popular ski resort. Ober Gatlinburg features eight trails and two quad, plus one double chairlift. Snowmaking equipment blankets 100% of the slopes at Ober Gatlinburg. For the 2008/09 season, you'll take great pleasure in Ober's Snow Tubing Park with 10 great lanes and a 50 foot vertical drop.
