Cranberries are harvested in the fall, usually late Spetember or early October, as the berry takes on a distinctive deep red color. In harvesting cranberries, the beds (or bogs) are flooded with water above the height of the vines. Cranberries are normally processed into various food products, like sauces, juices, sweetened dried cranberries, or canned. The rest of the cranberries are sold fresh to consumers. .
