Iced Tea Recipe
Sun Tea
Beat the heat this summer and enjoy a nice cool glass of iced tea! With this iced tea recipe, you don't have to heat up your kitchen, either, by doing it the old fashioned way: Sun Tea. Sun Tea may take a bit longer, BUT - It tastes much better and - AGAIN - doesn't heat up your kitchen while boiling water!
You may use a regular glass container with a lid, but I like to use something a tad fancier, like this: (Besides, it looks fantastic on your porch, patio, or balconey!)
Global Amici 18.5x8.5-in. Spigot Jar with Stand
I find this stunning Roma Spigot jar perfect for Sun Tea!. The spigot jar is made of recycled green glass in Italy and features a quite sturdy and elegant wrought iron stand. It holds 1.5 gallons.

Anyway, just put 8-10 of your favorite tea bags into your gallon-sized glass container. The number of tea bags will vary, depending on the type of tea you use and how strong you like your tea. Fill your container with water and secure the lid.. Place it outside in a sunny spot for about 4 or 5 hours. You may need to move the container to keep it in the sunlight. When your tea has reached its desired color/strength, remove the tea bags and just put the container in your refrigerator. .
Sun Tea's slow seeping has a way of bringing out a slightly different flavor from tea. Just toss some ice in your glass or tumbler, pour in your tea, add sugar, lemon, even a sprig of fresh mint (to taste). .
